[ Home / Federal Hill / Uncle Mac's Cabin ]

This cabin -- or more correctly, cabins -- housed the park's gift shop during my tenure at the park.

By then, the breezeway was closed in and a couple of wings were added for restrooms, storage space and other such stuff.

Legend has it that a bunch of similar cabins were lined up across what is now the park's golf course. There's some reason to believe this story, as an old cemetery for the Rowan's servants is in the middle of the fairway.

The cabins were in good condition when I was there. The gift shop was moved to a new building across the parking lot some in the mid 1990s. An interpretive center was added to the gift shop this past year.
