This 1/2A P-40 is powered by a Cox Babe Bee engine. I think the kit
was manufactured by Carl Goldberg ... either CG or maybe Scientific.
It was an all solid balsa kit, very easy to build and one of the
better flying planes I built. It wasn't a stunter, but it was very
forgiving and stable. I never did crash this one. However I later
sold or traded it to someone who needed a trainer, and it was a good
one. I always regretted parting with it, but I had so many 1/2 A
planes I didn't miss it. The decal set always impressed me with this
kit. Plus, the landing gear were mounted in the wing, rather than the
typical behind-the-motor setup that most 1/2A profile jobs used. |
