Denny Greenwell and I had a passion for the great fighter planes of World War II. We both had P-40s and P-51s of various sizes. Above is Denny's scale P-40 he built. My brother Bennie shot this photo and a bunch like it, trying to capture that scale appearance. The plane looks sharp, indeed. I don't recall how it flew, though I believe he did fly it, though not extensively. I'm not sure who created the kit, but the entire ship is sheeted balsa. The leadouts exit the fuselage above the wing instead of through it. For a ship powered by a K&B Stallion .35, I always thought it to be small. Perhaps it was the heavy sheeting that made it require the larger motor.
