I can't recall how we got them, but Greg Young and I both wound up
with Cox-powered funny cars. These cars raced along a string, and a
knot in the line would kill the motor so it would coast to a stop.
Above you see Greg's car at left, and that's my Pinto funny car
eating his dust at right. In the background, you can see Greg running
after the cars. The location is McIntyre Field. The area in the
middle is the dirt runway area. You can see how nicely cut the grass
was around the entire field. |
