This is what happens when you have a control line ship that you can't
control. I'm still not certain why, but this P-40 never flew very
well. This was the first of several times the engine mount and part
of the nose was broken off in a crash. My theory is the pushrod was
weak, but I'll have to examine the plane again. It awaits repairs ...
still. This damage occured in the summer of 1973. The last time it
flew was in July 1976, and it suffered similar damage. |
